Hi all! Long time no see... I've been thinking, "man, it's way to much work to write a blog post!"
But anyway, I think I will expand this blog to have some more ramblings. It is a bit much to write long posts with pictures and all. But this post is here to basically say "hey, I'm alive!" ...maybe it will just be a personal diary of sorts.
I just wanted to come and talk about my current favorite things, since I've been feeling a little lost on my current interests. None of us are immune to propaganda I suppose! It's quite hard to not be influenced by current trends. However, knowing myself well, I usually fall out of love with them after some time. The things I DO like are pretty consistent however. Although, they are somewhat hard to obtain. (Where do I get a vampire castle again...?)
Read all about it!
Chia Seed Pudding
Here's my recipe! I have this every day (or night). It makes for the perfect dessert or breakfast. Just add chia seeds to liquid in a 1:4 ratio. These are all the ingredients I use:
- chia seeds
- honey
- coconut beverage (trader joes)
- oat milk vanilla creamer (whole foods)
Just adjust it to your taste! I like it a bit thick. Make sure for the first 10-ish minutes to stir the concoction occassionally so that clumps don't form when you let it set. Chill overnight and enjoy!
Cleaning
Well, this is a bit of a weird one but I've been feeling hella unemployed lately. Man I really don't do much all day...aside from occassionally going to school. Here are some cleaning tips that have made me feel a lot better...
1) Keeping the bathroom sink tidy (no hair, clutter, or dust).
2) Using laundry scent beads to give a fresh boost.
3) Letting sheets air out and spraying a little perfume or bed spray before making the bed.
4) Scrubbing the heck out of that kitchen sink.
Some of my cleaning wishlist items are a sponge rack that sticks to the side of the sink. And a spray bottle to rehome my bleach! My bleach sprayer is broken... but I have yet to replace the bottle. I want to also get a scrubber for the tub, so I can make it nice and clean if I ever want a bath. (I never take baths).
I really like this new laundry scent booster I got.
Vivienne Westwood Bag
I will never fall for Vivienne Westwood propaganda!!! Just kidding.
I got my first VW piece on Mercari JP. I think it's such a popular piece in old school lolita history. It's super cute but the texture is... not so cute. It's definitely prone to getting a bit dirty, and I gave it a deep clean before I used it. Man.... the water turned so gross.
I think this is one awesome statement piece! It can go with any coord of course, but I love the proto-style outfits as seen here. I put some cute charms on mine. Go Mr. Panda keychain!! He broke within the first 5 minutes of going to a convention. Luckily, there's that cosplay repair station nearby. Check out my coord!
Jirai/Ryousangata Daily Vlogs
These are so so entertaining and calming to me. I love the asmr and chill vibe of them. It is funny how many jirai girls are lowkey chainsmokers LOL. Well, I guess they use this thing called IQOS now? Either way, I will watch hours of these videos. I have no interest in this subculture, but there's something so mesmirizing about beautifying your life. They love to collect cute things and pretty cosmetics. I'm not too big on collecting a lot of items, so this lifestyle isn't for me. But I will live vicariously!
Skincare / Hair Products
I'm really not crazy about 10-step beauty routines. I've just gone a long time without the proper basics LOL. Can you believe I haven't used conditioner for months because I ran out?
Here's what I like so far!
- Anua Heartleaf Toner, cleanser, and peach niacin serum
- Mixsoon Galactomyces Extract
- &Honey Conditioner and Hair Mask
- Purito Water Cream
- OUAI leave in conditioner
I'm not a beauty guru, so don't ask me for the deets. I just think it feels nice to have moisturized skin and soft hair. I was dry as hell before I started a regular skin and hair routine. All I used was cleanser and lotion before. But it feels nice to have some extra stuff! It makes your skin really smooth.
My UNfaves
What's an UNfave? I guess it's propaganda I haven't been falling for LOL. There's nothing wrong with liking these things, but I'm trying to avoid them! They're just not going to have that much of a positive impact on my life personally. It's really hard to resist some of these though...
Light-mode IKEA furniture
I'm strugging so hard because I know that my true love lies in vintage style furniture. However, realistically, I can't exactly own things like that when I rent an apartment.
However, mass produced furniture lowkey gives me the ick T^T. It does good in a pinch, but I just don't want to buy too much of it. Still, what should a girl do with her living space... decisions decisions.
Trinkets!?
 |
Sanrio does not have a chokehold on me. |
I really cannot deal with clutter, and I have definitely realized that trinkets are my enemy. No matter how cute they are! I might be somewhat of a weird minimalist maximalist at heart. I love to own stuff, but I HATE looking at all my stuff! I hate cleaning around it too LOL. I feel the most peace of mind when all of it is hidden away. I still love some decorations and trinkets (don't get me wrong), but any more plushies or plastic figurines are usually a no-go. I think things that I can enjoy without it taking up too much mental and physical space are neat. For example, I sometimes like pictures and prints, but I think I would rather flip through them when I want to rather than always having them on a wall.
That doesn't mean that I don't like trinkets at all though. At the end of the day I definitely lean more towards antique items and home decor. I guess it reminds me to be more choosy with what I buy. I think a good compromise for myself are examples of Old School Lolita rooms. Some of these snapshots show super gothic/victorian inspired rooms that were done in small apartments. So it's kind of like a bit of a modern and vintage crossover! You can do what you can!
Cosmetic Product Collections
I like makeup too, but I don't understand when people buy an excessive amount of it. If you can't use it all, wouldn't it expire? I also think there's a bit of brand name obsession sometimes. I'm not completely immune to it, but I try to be. I think you really just have to tell yourself that you don't need it just because everyone else has it xD it's fine really.
Also, I think beauty standards have gotten more strict in modern times. People kind of fall into that trap of think they need makeup to fit in. I often look at old street snaps where people didn't wear heavy makeup. They embraced their natural look. There's a lot of beauty in being a bit frumpy and unpolished. Something that people are a bit scared to do in modern society I think!
I still feel a bit weird not wearing makeup with my coord pics, mostly because I WILL look like a ghost. But I have been trying to channel that energy a bit. I've worn glasses more often in my coord pics, and have been a lot more casual.

Ugh ok, I got tired of writing so I will stop now. There's probably a lot more I am currently a fan and a hater (a fan in a different font) of. I won't drag on about them though!
See you guys next time!
