Long time no post…I thought I would make a post about my goals for this upcoming year in terms of this hobby. It has brought me a lot of joy, and I'm excited to see what this year brings!
Attend a Lolita Tea Party
Despite there being a ton of tea parties in my local community, I haven't been to very many. To be honest, I think the price is a bit steep for the quality of food provided here in SF. However, I think it would be nice to go to at least one, just as a special occasion and to catch up with friends. There’s an old school tea party in January, and I already booked my spot!
Update my Digital Wardrobe
I don't have an unmanageable amount of pieces, but I do want to make sure I only keep pieces I love. Luckily, I don't usually feel too bad about selling things if they don’t suit me! This year, I need to update my digital wardrobe and keep track of what I am wearing. I plan to sell things that aren’t my style, don’t fit well, or I don’t see myself reaching towards. I might try to lean my pieces more gothic, since I know that’s my main style I’ll keep.
Find my Wishlist Items
Luckily I'm not too big of a collector, so there aren’t really specific "dream dresses" on my list. If something fits the vibe I like, it can easily become one of my favorites. Honestly, I’ve found almost everything that I could possibly want in my lolita wardrobe this year. I definitely have a few things I’d love to fill the niche for, but I think I’d also be content with not having those. Let’s just see if I find them for a good deal or can sew them myself! Here are some of those items:

Make Jfashion Art Every Month
I’d love to get back into drawing, especially featuring jfashion in my artwork. I used to draw way more, but I haven’t gotten back into it! I think it would be great if I could also start taking commissions. My goal is to make at least one Jfashion drawing per month! Haha, it’s not very much, but at least it is something.
Film a Wardrobe Tour
This is a classic January activity for Lolitas, and I finally feel like I have an interesting enough collection to film a video for. I’ll most likely be doing main pieces, but if I have enough time and energy I’ll try to include accessories as well! I really enjoy watching old school wardrobe tours and I wish there were more videos out there.
Make Two Main Pieces
I’ve had such a hard time focusing on hobbies due to how busy I am with school. Sewing is so challenging to work on “bit by bit” because of how messy it is, so I usually try to only start projects when I know I can finish in a week or two. I’m hoping that everything calms down a bit and I can finally sew again! I’d love to finally check off some main pieces I’ve planned and acquired the materials for.
Well, that’s about it! I’m sure there could be more if I spent a bit more time thinking about it. At the end of the day, I don’t have too many concrete goals with this hobby aside from having fun.
